Join me as I learn about the development of art and its interrelations with technology. I will be studying the definition of multimedia and its evolution toward hypermedia. There will be special emphasis on the creation and transformation of technology used in the 20th century - such as radio, television, computers, the Internet, etc.- and how it's developments are related to historic art movements.

Juan Carlos Delgado
An example of one of Juan Carlos Delgado's pieces.
This is one of my favorite pieces from Juan Carlos's collection. I could honestly say I have never seen a piece like this: it is very fascinating. Of course when I first saw this piece, I instantly thought it was just a traditional sculpture. As I scrolled through his website, I realize this was a perfect example of multimedia - time controlling tools working in synergy. In simple terms, multimedia is taking a stationary object (in this case) and transforming it from its original state or purpose through time using technology.
